Stewardship of Prayer and Reflection

The Fourth Sunday of Easter always portrays Jesus as our Good Shepherd, and so prompts the community’s prayer for priestly vocations, shepherds after Jesus’ own heart. So we can’t miss that point, Jesus declares five times in eight lines, “I lay down my life for my sheep.” The relationship between shepherd and sheep, in Jesus’ teaching, is one of mutual and intimate love:  knowing and hearing denote the warmth of relationship rather than cold obligation. Thus the key to the Church’s renewal and the world’s evangelization is our recommitment to Jesus in the personal relationship of a disciple’s love.

We can bring the Gospel to others only if it has made a deep impact on our lives .”
