Stewardship of Prayer and Reflection

Persistence. That is what the angel of the Lord needs when visiting Elijah in the desert. Notice that one visit was not enough. In the account from the first book of Kings, the angel brought food and water to Elijah and nudged him to get up and eat. Elijah obeys, but then lies down again. So the angel has to return, touch him again, and order him to get up, eat, and begin his journey. This does the trick, as after this second meal Elijah finally resumes his walk across the desert. Like a parent trying to get their child up for school, one attempt is not enough.

Persistencia.

Quote for the Week...

“God alone can give us true happiness. It’s useless wasting time looking for it elsewhere: in wealth, pleasure, and power
