Stewardship of Prayer and Reflection

Today Peter, the Rock, stumbles over Jesus’ predicted passion, prompting Jesus’ labeling Peter as “Satan, a stumbling block [obstacle] to me.”  Then, Jesus puts Peter and us in our place; literally, “Get behind me,” i.e., where disciples belong, following the Master, imitating the Master’s self-sacrificing love. Peter needed to learn, as do Christians in every age, including ours, that professing the faith is just the beginning. “Talking the talk” means nothing without “walking the walk.”

“Obras, no palabras”.
