Stewardship of Prayer and Reflection

Today’s magi are legion—men and women of science and statecraft, devotees of art and culture, people of good will with good hearts, whose searching, far from “troubling” us, should challenge us to deepen our understanding of the revelation we have received and to appreciate the gifts modern seekers still bring. We are called to find Christ together, even if we already know where Christ is; and with all who seek Christ, to be changed by that encounter, to “return to our own country,” our daily world, “by another way.”

The celebration will continue after Mass in the Marek Hall with a potluck dinner and fellowship. Please come join in this special celebration with your parish family. Please bring your favorite covered dish to share.

Our heartfelt thanks to Sacristans, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Ministry of Music, Lectors, Altar Servers, Ushers, and the Art & Environment Team for the success of our Advent and Christmas Celebration. Your gesture of generosity and hard work is sincerely appreciated.

Blessing of the Home on the Feast of the Epiphany

Leader: Bless, + O Lord God almighty, this home, that in it there may be health, purity, the strength of victory, humility, goodness and mercy, the fulfillment of Your law, the thanksgiving to God the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. And may this blessing remain upon this home and upon all who dwell herein. Through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.

After the prayers of the blessing are recited, each room of the home is sprinkled with Epiphany water and incensed. The initials of the Magi are inscribed upon the doors with the blessed chalk. (The initials, C, M, B, can also be interpreted as the Latin phrase "Christus mansionem benedicat" which means "Christ bless this house".)
