Stewardship of Prayer and Reflection

To remain is especially challenging given the Vine-Grower’s method for fostering our growth: perpetual pruning, a process frequently painful if we are to be fruitful. Pope Francis has challenged Christians: Don’t become complacent! The Church must be productive. Life-giving, fruit-bearing—pruning is necessary.

Moreover, choice wine happens only after the vine’s grapes are picked, pressed, and crushed. The cost of fruitful discipleship: self-sacrificing love, like Jesus’, in whom we are resolved to remain.

In the sacraments we discover the strength to think and to act according to the Gospel.”
